Welcome to The Homeschool Collective! Our vibrant community offers homeschool families multiple locations, on different days, each with their own set of weekly classes from which to choose! Classes are found on the day tabs at the top.  Please first read about our fees and policies under the Fees tab, to better understand those details, as well as the About Us tab, for our stance on diversity, sick policy and more, to be sure we are a good fit for your family. Please use the Registration Form found on the "More" tab above to begin enrollment. Parents are welcome to enroll their children in 1 or more drop-off classes. Fees are pay per class, for the term. Once a class becomes full, a waitlist will be started. You will be notified by the email you list on your Registration Form, about class status. You may need to check your spam folder for our email. Please read about our class philosophy on the About Us Page, under the "More" tab above.  We believe in the benefits of mixed age classrooms and acknowledge skills and concepts as a continuum of learning. Elementary classes include a range of activities, skills, and extension lessons in place to support all learning styles and levels. Some classes are listed as Elem/Middle or Middle/High, for a wider range of ages, and will be tailored to the majority age range.  Please stay to assist your child as needed if they are struggling with completing activities, or having difficulty coping within this structured classroom environment.  Also consider a partial schedule, as learning to cope in social settings can be exhausting at any age. Our minimum age on Mondays is 7yo, due to length of classes, readiness levels for structured activities, and number of students. Wednesdays & Thursdays may offer PreK/K classes for 4-6yos, and possible inclusion of ready 6yos to Elementary level classes. You are asked to supervise your child on the grounds when they are not in class.  As well, a small snack between classes is advised if a child cannot wait until their schedule is finished. Masks are welcome but not required. We ask that all families stay home when recovering from illness, or wear masks when questionable, to respect the health of all families and tutors, and honor our diversity of comfort levels. PreK-5 year olds are welcome to play together outside under parent supervision.
Mini Treasure Seekers: A Creative Self Awareness class
10-10:50am Ages 4-7
We are Seeking Treasures! The treasures of our Big Emotions! Using nature analogies and a variety of art mediums, we’ll explore our mountainous terrain of emotions and how to regulate them. In this Creative Awareness class students will learn how to cultivate healthy roots, calm our Emotion Ocean, and make some lovely art in the process. Amy Rich is an Art therapist coach that loves to work with children, creating a magical reality that helps our kids get and stay Creative. Amy runs her own business, Fragmented Rainbows, offering group art therapy workshops for all ages, as well as at the YWCA. She is excited to now share her talents with our homeschoolers! Class fee: $60 ($50 + $10 for supplies)
Fall Into Autumn with Stories & Games
11-11:50am Ages 4-7
Students will use their senses to explore the season of autumn. Each lesson will include a seasonal read aloud and related hands-on activities. Students will learn about all things fall: apples, leaves, pumpkins, and more! Kelsey Ray earned her Elementary Education degree from York College of Pennsylvania in 2013. She has 7 years of teaching experience with Pre-K and Kindergarteners. She lives in Gettysburg with her husband, Devin and her son, Emerson. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside, scrapbooking, and baking. Class Fee: $60

Preschool & Kinder prep program:
We are so excited to welcome families to our new Preschool & Kinder Prep Program!!
Ages 3-6, kids will work at their ability, practicing our foundation goals of reading and math readiness through play, as well as social-emotional wellbeing.
Every age and stage welcome!

Adults to remain on Property, and welcome in room, participating or observing.
Parents must be available to help their child with bathroom needs and emotional support. Gradual separation is encouraged, once child feels safe and comfortable.

Junior Zoologists
10-10:50am Ages 7-11
Junior Zoologists will explore habitats around the world and learn how to classify animals. Each lesson will include nonfiction read alouds and hands on activities to demonstrate understanding of what different animals need to survive. Which is your favorite habitat – ocean? jungle? desert? forest? Kelsey Ray earned her Elementary Education degree from York College of Pennsylvania in 2013. Book Tasting: Find Your New Favorite!
11--11:50am Ages 7-11
Book Tasting: Join us to find your favorite next read! This class focuses on sharing many types of books with young readers. Each week a new selection of books will be shared with students. Just like adults might get a sample before they commit to eating a new ice cream flavor, children will be able to read a short excerpt of a variety of books with different reading levels and genres. They’ll get to fill out a form to remember their favorites and discuss what they liked and didn’t like. It’s a great way for young readers to explore and develop their book preferences. The handouts can help inform parents on their child’s book preferences and reading levels. The purpose of this class is to provide young readers with a fun game-like environment stressing the enjoyment of reading without the pressure to read perfectly. Instructor Melissa Ring brings together her years of homeschooling experience and her teaching assistant experience at a Montessori public school, to offer classes for homeschoolers that bring the best of both worlds together. Melissa brings her creative passion to everything she does, whether it's making cardboard swords for her class on Medieval knights, or sharing foundational elements of photography with teens. She is also a professional photographer and runs her own local studio. She has enjoyed homeschooling her daughters over the years and offering classes to The Homeschool Collective community. We are so excited to have her back again! Class Fee: $60
On Your Feet: Sports and More!
12-12:30pm Ages 7-11
Have some fun with your friends at the end of your co-op day! Kickball, wiffle ball, relay races, basketball, frisbee, all those fun activities you played on the playground, gym class, the local park…we're bringing them to you! Each week we'll be engaging in some outdoor games and sports to get the blood pumping and the laughs roaring! With the best location for so much fun, just bring your sneakers and a drink and join us! Shayne Carroll has been a professional artist for the past 30 years and has owned his own business in downtown Gettysburg for the past 15 years. He attended Penn State University prior to that for Fine Arts. When he's not at his shop, you can find him on his little homestead working on his garden or tending to his menagerie of dogs, cats, milking goats, chickens, and ducks with his wife Corinn and daughter Natalie who have been homeschooling from day 1 and are on their 6th year as members of the Collective. Class Fee: $40

Essay Writing Workshop
(English/Composition)
10-10:50am Ages 12-16
Don’t be fooled! Essay writing can be fun and simple when you know the steps for success! In this class we will focus on the different types of essays and standard essay writing rules for middle and high schoolers. Together students will learn to build a cohesive essay following MLA guidelines. Students will be working on a team essay with Teacher guidance for comprehension during class, and weekly homework assignments should be turned in for review and feedback from the Teacher. This class is appropriate for both beginners and moderately experienced essay writers. Instructor Melissa Ring brings together her years of homeschooling experience and her public school teaching assistant experience, to offer classes for homeschoolers that bring the best of both worlds together. Melissa is a professional photographer and runs her own local studio. She has enjoyed homeschooling her daughters over the years and offering classes to The Homeschool Collective community! Class Fee: $70
Photography Foundations
10--10:50am Ages 12-16

Turn passion into skill as you learn the key concepts and foundations behind your favorite hobby! Find the magic with whatever camera or device you have. Students will explore lighting, composition, shutter speed and more in this dynamic hands on class. Discussions will also include how to turn your hobby into a career, open your own studio, and gather clients. The sky's the limit! Instructor Melissa Ring brings together her years of homeschooling experience and her teaching assistant experience at a Montessori public school, to offer classes for homeschoolers that bring the best of both worlds together. Melissa brings her creative passion to everything she does, whether it's making cardboard swords for her class on Medieval knights, or sharing foundational elements of photography with teens. As a professional photographer, Melissa runs her own local studio, and delights in shifting the real into fantasy with her creative spirit. Melissa has held numerous exhibits in the local area, including her latest which transforms each woman into the true goddess that she is! Melissa has enjoyed homeschooling her daughters over the years and offering classes to The Homeschool Collective community. We are so excited to have her back again! Class Fee: $65
