Welcome to The Homeschool Collective! Our vibrant community offers homeschool families multiple locations, on different days, each with their own set of weekly classes from which to choose! Classes are found on each location's tab. Please first read our homepage, About Us, for our educational philosophy and stance on diversity to be sure we are a good fit for your family. Learn more about our fees and policies under the Fees tab, to better understand those details as well. Please use the Registration Form found on the "More" tab above to begin enrollment. Parents are welcome to enroll their children in 1 or more drop-off classes. Fees are pay per class, for the term. Once a class becomes full, a waitlist will be started. You will be notified by the email you list on your Registration Form, about class status. You may need to check your spam folder for our email. The updates are done manually, to be sure every family finds their place, and may take a few hours. We believe in the benefits of mixed age classrooms and acknowledge skills and concepts as a continuum of learning. Elementary classes include a range of activities, skills, and extension lessons in place to support all learning styles and levels. Some classes are listed as Elem/Middle or Middle/High, for a wider range of ages, and will be tailored to the majority age range. Classes for teens include optional extension assignments, research, and group work, for further family educational support. Please stay to assist your child as needed if they are struggling with completing activities, or having difficulty coping within this structured classroom environment. Also consider a partial schedule, as learning to cope in social settings can be exhausting at any age. You are asked to supervise your child on the grounds when they are not in class. As well, a small snack between classes is advised if a child cannot wait until their schedule is finished. We ask that all families stay home when recovering from illness, or wear masks when questionable, to respect the health of all families and tutors, and honor our diversity of comfort levels. All children and siblings, registered or not, are welcome to play together outside under parent supervision.

Animal Stories Around the World
10-10:50am Ages 4-6
Take a walk around the world with animal stories! Every culture around the world throughout history has had stories that teach them about the area’s history, culture, and even human nature through the innocent lenses of animals. Each week we will add to our Reading Passports and read an animal story, then learn about country and culture it’s from through activities and crafts! Erin Murphy has been homeschooling her children for 10 years, along with being an essential parent volunteer of The Homeschool Collective for 5 years! She attended Ottawa University for Social Services, and takes continuing education courses on environmental studies and sustainability when available. Erin loves all things fae and has offered Kids Crafts and Learning Corners at many festivals and conventions, like MythiCon and GoblinCon, for the last 8 years! She's looking forward to expanding your child's knowledge in creative ways! Class Fee: $60
Discovery Crew: Letter & Number Readiness Skills
11-11:50am Ages 4-6
Come and learn and play with us all year long! Every week brings a new letter, number, and a chance to shine during show-and-share! We'll paint, pretend, sing, read, and get wonderfully messy as we grow our PreK super skills-friendship, creativity, confidence, and curiosity! Hope Eberly is a 2nd year homeschooling mama to 3 kiddos. Hope has a bachelor's in social work and has experience in teaching in groups. She strongly believes in lifelong learning and making learning fun! Hope has enjoyed sharing classes on science, local history, and now reading, with our Collective community! Class Fee: $60

Preschool & Kinder prep program:
We are so excited to welcome families to our new Preschool & Kinder Prep Program!!
Ages 3-6, kids will work at their ability, practicing our foundation goals of reading and math readiness through play, as well as social-emotional wellbeing.
Every age and stage welcome!
Adults to remain on Property, and welcome in room, participating or observing.
Parents must be available to help their child with bathroom needs and emotional support. Gradual separation is encouraged, once child feels safe and comfortable.

Phonics Playground
10-10:50am Ages 6-9
Reading becomes an adventure in this playful, game-packed class! Kids will laugh, sing, chant, and explore while practicing reading in fun, interactive ways! With guided support and hands on activities, learners will build confidence without even realizing they are working. Come ready to play, learn and shine! Creating with Comics: Lit, Writing, & more
11-11:50am Ages 7-12
Young readers explore favorite graphic novels like Dog Man and Captain Underpants to learn what makes a comic work, then create one of their own. We'll cover plot, character development, dialogue, and how comics tell stories differently than novels, using panels, speech bubbles, and illustration. Students finish the course with their own completed comic book or working draft. No drawing experience needed. Stick figures and great big imaginations welcome! Laurel Nicolson has always been a creator at heart. She is a photographer, published author and has been homeschooling her children for the last seven years. Laurel has a passion for all creative arts, but writing holds her heart. She’s passionate about sharing that same joy and helping to foster creativity in young, homeschooling learners. Class Fee: $60

Soccer Clinic!
12-12:30pm Ages 7-12
Join Us for a Youth Soccer Clinic! Calling all young players ages 7–11 and 12–16! Whether you're a beginner or a more intermediate player, everyone is welcome. Participants will enjoy time on our large turf field, where we’ll: • Run fun skill-building drills • Play small-sided scrimmages • Learn more about the wonderful game of soccer Come improve your skills, make new friends, and have a great time on the field! 📍 All skill levels welcome ⚽ Bring your energy and love for the game (and a pair of sneakers, or cleats if you have them)! Run by Holly and Bryan Davis. Bryan has been playing at a competitive level of soccer for several years, and is looking forward to sharing his love of the game! Holly Davis is a "boymom" of 3 active kids. She received her Masters in Education from Wilkes University, in Wilkes, PA and has been teaching classes with The Homeschool Collective for many years. Class Fee: $50

Once Upon a Word:
A Creative Writing Class
10-10:50am Ages 9-12
“Once Upon a Word” is a creative writing course for upper-elementary and early-middle-school students who love stories, imagination, and a little magic. Through short lessons, group discussions, creative activities, and guided writing time, students will explore what makes fairy tales and fantasy stories memorable. They will then use those tools to create an original fairy tale of their own by the end of the course. Throughout the course, students will explore fantasy stories and fairy tales from cultures around the world. We will also cover character development, protagonists and antagonists, setting and world-building, plot structure, conflict, descriptive writing, dialogue, parts of speech, and more. Each lesson builds upon the last, guiding students from their first story idea to a completed fairy-tale draft. The course will conclude with a relaxed author celebration, where students may share a favorite scene or excerpt with the class. This is a creativity- and growth-focused course rather than a formal grammar class. Students will be encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and develop confidence in their own unique storytelling voices. Writing expectations will be adjusted according to each student’s age, experience, and ability. Laurel Nicolson has always been a creator at heart. Art Around the World

Pack your imagination and get ready for a creative adventure! In Art Around the World, young artists will travel across the globe through hands-on art projects inspired by cultures like Japan, Mexico, Australia, Portugal, Panama, Türkiye, and Africa. Students will explore a variety of artistic traditions while experimenting with exciting techniques such as painting, printmaking, weaving, collage, sculpture, and mixed media. Along the way, they'll study geography, discover fascinating cultural traditions, learn about artists and art forms from around the world, and create unique masterpieces to take home. Join us for a colorful journey where creativity knows no borders! Holly Davis is a "boymom" of 3 active kids, who have enjoyed homeschooling for many years! She has been teaching clay for a little more than 25 years, since she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics (from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA and Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland). Holly received her Masters in Education from Wilkes University, in Wilkes, PA. Prior to homeschooling, she taught high school Ceramics for several years. She currently teach clay classes at Creative York. She loves "how clay directly connects us to history and the land!" Class Fee: $90
Mind Body Balance: Fun with Chi
12-12:30pm All Ages
Qigong is a centuries-old Chinese practice of moving, breathing, and settling the body's nervous system; and Mind Body Balance brings it to life for kids and teens. The practice also helps increase circulation, mobility, the immune system Across 10 playful, 30-minute classes, students shake and tap to discharge restless energy, move through flowing, animal-inspired shapes that wake up the body's fascia, and finish in stillness with standing meditation and the microcosmic orbit. It's not exercise dressed up as calm — it's an actual practice, taught the real way, scaled for growing bodies. Candy has practiced Qigong for over 20 years and is certified to teach Satori Qigong, Reiki, and more. She has held workshops, women’s circles, meditation classes, and ceremonies—creating spaces where individuals feel safe to open, heal, and remember who they truly are. We are delighted to have her offering a class for our community, as she supports the homeschooling of her grandchildren. Class Fee: $20-40 donation, to be donated back to The Homeschool Collective (Class will start on Week 2) Class Fee: $45

"We Didn't Start the Fire": World History
10-10:50am Ages 12-16
History comes alive through one of the most iconic songs of all time! Using Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" as our guide, students will embark on a fast-paced journey through four decades of world history, exploring more than 100 people, events, inventions, and cultural moments referenced in the lyrics. From the aftermath of World War II to the end of the Cold War (1949–1989), we'll examine the political conflicts, scientific breakthroughs, social movements, pop culture, and technological innovations that shaped the modern world. Each class combines engaging lectures, historical video clips, discussion, and hands-on projects to help students connect the song's rapid-fire references to the larger story of history. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just curious about the stories behind the lyrics, this course offers an exciting and memorable way to understand the events that continue to influence our world today.
